Summary:
The Cormorant is a large black Crane like water bird whose plumage takes on a oily sheen when wet. It can often be seen on a perch near the water’s edge with its wings held out to dry. The underside of the face is white and the bill is long and yellow.

Feeds primarily by diving for fish and has a low buoyancy in the water
