Summary:
The Oystercatcher is a wading bird with orange eyes and along straight orange bill. The upper parts are pure black apart from a long white wing bar, the underparts parts are white. The legs are pink and not particularly long for a wader.
Ecology:
Oystercatchers gather into large flocks to feed from the substrata of estuaries. They are also found in marshy areas and even inland on farmland during summer.
