Summary:
The Wren is a tiny bird, the second smallest species in the British Isles. It has a brown crown, back and wings with dark barring. The tail is often cocked upwards and has dark bars on it. The underparts are light in colour, as is the face part from a dark stripe that runs through the eye. The bill is dark and thin.
Ecology:
The Wren is a fidgety active little bird, always hopping from branch to branch. The male builds several domed shaped nests for one or more females to select from. It feeds on seeds, insect larve and spiders.
Habitat:
Woodland, hedgerows.
